An au natural Gwyneth Paltrow was out enjoying a relaxing meal with a few friends in Beverly Hills on Tuesday afternoon (April 17).
Opting to chow down at Scarpetta restaurant, the "Avengers" actress was all smiles as she took a break from her busy schedule while clad in a grey tee with vintage-inspired gold necklaces, along with a pair of white jeans and brown sandals.
Miss Paltrow's new film’s director, Joss Whedon, revealed to the LA Times this morning why the 39-year-old was added to the ensemble cast making up "The Avengers", saying that Robert Downey Jr insisted that she was a crucial addition to his character, Iron Man’s arc through the plot.
"You need to separate the characters from their support systems in order to create the isolation you need for a team," Whedon said during the film's junket, explaining why he didn’t originally include the actress.
"But Pepper, this was really Robert’s thing. He pushed hard ... ," Joss added. "He really thought Gwyneth would bring something great to the table, and we all thought so as well, but he was the one who convinced her to come and do it."
