Demi Lovato 'Relates' To Britney Spears On 'X Factor'
'Factor' judge also says 'it would be an honor' to collaborate on music with Spears.

<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lovato__demi/artist.jhtml">Demi Lovato</a> is having a blast as one of the four judges on <a href="/news/articles/1685141/demi-lovato-x-factor.jhtml">"The X Factor."</a> Nestled alongside <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/spears_britney/artist.jhtml">Britney Spears</a>, Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid, the onetime Disney princess has found her voice as a singing-competition referee. And she describes her judging style as tough but loving.</P><P>"Well, you know, I try to be positive as much as I can," she explained to MTV News on Sunday, just before she jetted to Miami for the show's boot camp. "But sometimes you've just got to tell people that singing is not for them. When I hear a good singer, sometimes I critique them so that they can be better. And it's not that they're bad."</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Demi Lovato Explains Why She Comes Off As The 'Toughest' 'X Factor' Judge" id="vid:818024" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>In fact, Lovato sometimes will go to bat for a singer despite what the other judges have to say. "But then when I hear someone that I absolutely love or someone that I believe in, I'll stick up for them, even if everyone else votes no," she said. "I'm really honest on the show and sometimes I come off as the toughest judge. I guess you can say I speak my mind."</P><P>So, which of those other judges does she agree with most at the end of the day? "It's unpredictable. Like sometimes I cannot see what Simon sees in the people he puts through. And same with Britney," she explained. "I'm like, 'Britney, what are you thinking?' But there are more times I relate with Britney [better] than Simon, actually. Maybe because we're the two girls on the show."</P><P>While her focus on set is to judge the show, when asked if she and Britney have talked about making any music together, she said, "It would be an honor, but no plans yet."</P><P>Lovato, who in addition to judging the show is also on her <a href="/news/articles/1688267/demi-lovato-holmdel-nj-show.jhtml">summer tour</a>, added that she has no regrets about signing on. "Everyone's amazing," she said. "It's awesome."</P><P>On Monday, all four judges appeared at the Television Critics Association summer press tour via video conference and chatted about the next season of the show, which kicks off on September 12.</P><P>"I'm not going to lie about this," Cowell said of Spears during the press conference, according to <a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/tca-x-factor-britney-spears-demi-lovato-simon-cowell-353120" target="_blank"><i>The Hollywood Reporter</a>.</i> "I always said the no. 1 person I wanted on one of these shows was Britney. Taylor Swift, Usher, Rihanna Set For iHeartRadio Music Festival
The two-day show, also featuring Lil Wayne, Aerosmith and many more, will take place in September in Las Vegas.

<P>Wondering who will take the stage at the second annual iHeartRadio Music Festival this year? Well, on Monday (July 9), the A-list-filled roster was announced.</P><P>In a press release, Clear Channel confirmed that <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/swift__taylor/artist.jhtml">Taylor Swift</a>, Aerosmith, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/rihanna/artist.jhtml">Rihanna</a>, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/Usher/artist.jhtml">Usher</a>, Bon Jovi, Lil Wayne, Green Day, Swedish House Mafia, No Doubt, Brad Paisley, Pitbull, deadmau5, Miranda Lambert, Enrique Iglesias, Linkin Park, Jason Aldean, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/pink/artist.jhtml">Pink</a>, Mary J. Blige, Calvin Harris and Shakira will all take the stage during the two-day festival. She was allergic to it so she sniffled and sneezed the entire time."
The allergy prone flower was only the start of the night as Joshua admitted that once they actually sat down for dinner his nerves got the best of him, explaining,”When I get nervous, you might have noticed I talk a lot. So I just chewed her ear off for an hour and a half," he added. "It was amazing. I'm surprised she ever called back."
As previously reported by GossipCenter, the two have been dating since 2006 and it looks like they might be planning to grow their family as Jackson confirmed, saying, “I'm at that age."

Keeping things low key ever since the onset of TomKat's divorce drama - as she, too, went through a split with the "Top Gun" star - Nicole Kidman has once again immersed herself back into the public realm while attending the festivities surrounding the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
Joined by her country star hubby, Keith Urban, the famous couple brought their good looks to a private party celebrating the opening of OMEGA House in London on Saturday (July 28).
Once inside the ritzy House of St. Barnabas held ado, Kidman joined alongside OMEGA President Stephen Urquhart for a round of photos while Urban took a solo trip through the flashes emerging amidst the arrivals area.

Robert Pattinson, Rupert Sanders to Face Off?
There could be some drama between Robert Pattinson and the creepy director Rupert Sanders now that it was revealed that Kristen Stewart was swapping spit with him. Some reports are now saying that R-Patz wants to have a little chat. This could be good. RadarOnline reported today that Pattinson apparently wants to have a “man to man” conversation with Sanders about what supposedly took place on the set of Snow White and the Huntsman. On the heels of news that he has packed up and moved out of the house he shared with Kristen, now a source says this: “Kristen has already betrayed his trust by cheating, so he can’t be sure that she will tell him exactly what went on between her and Rupert. Christina Aguilera Gets Back to Work on "The Voice"
Staying busy with her hit NBC show, Christina Aguilera made her way into “The Voice” studio in Burbank, CA on Friday (July 27).
The 31-year-old songstress donned a sexy ensemble in a black jacket while letting her platinum blonde locks hang loose as she she headed in to hit the set.
In related news, a new star will join the ranks as a mentor of the hit singing show and the "Beautiful" singer is thrilled with the addition.
On Thursday, NBC announced that Green Day vocalist and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong will be joining the already impressive talent on the competition. Yesterday Xtina took to her Twitter page writing, “So excited to have such a talented mentor on #TeamXtina. @BJAofficial has so much to offer team & has kept me laughing all day. #TheVoice.”
In a statement, Armstrong also expressed his joy to be a part of the show and explained, “The Voice” has won the hearts of viewers because "it's not molding artists, it's just giving them a little bit of guidance and direction without giving them a complete makeover."

Ke$ha Calls Bob Dylan Cover 'An Emotional Purging'
Pop singer sings 'Don't Think Twice, It's All Right' for Amnesty International anniversary album.

<P>It's hard to associate <a href="/music/artist/_kesha_/artist.jhtml">Ke$ha</a> with songs about anything other than hot guys, body glitter and partying. But she's defying her usual topics of interest for human rights organization Amnesty International. The singer is one of the many musicians on the org's <i>Chimes of Freedom</i> compilation of Bob Dylan's music, out January 24.</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Ke$ha Calls Bob Dylan Cover Choice 'An Accident'" id="vid:720838" width="240" height="211"></div><p></P><P>When MTV News spoke with K-Dollar Sign last week about her <a href="/news/articles/1676172/kesha-sleazy-remix.jhtml">all-star remix of "Sleazy,"</a> she also opened up about switching gears vocally and emotionally for her version of Dylan's classic "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right."</P><P>"I mean, I think it's pretty well known that he's one of, if not my most, favorite artists of all time and ... one of the most amazing lyricists as well — the original storyteller," she explained. "So I love Bob Dylan and this was just, like, a dream. When they asked me to do a cover, I was just, like, salivating and going through all my records. It was so fun. It was the best homework assignment you could possibly have."</P><P>K's version of Dylan's song is a slow-burning, heartbreaking ode to the already heartbreaking classic, where she channels Dylan through lyrics like "Still I wish there was somethin' you would do or say/ To try and make me change my mind and stay/ We never did too much talkin' anyway/ So don't think twice, it's all right."</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="What Is The Biggest Perk Of Being A Headliner?" id="vid:642810" width="240" height="211"></div><p></P><P>Ke$ha had originally intended to record another Dylan track, but when she heard that someone else had their sights set on it, she settled on "Don't Think Twice," prompting a catharsis she could never have imagined.</P><P>"This song was kind of an accident. I sat down and this is the first take that I ever sang," she recalled. "I just sat down on my bed for the first time after months of being on tour and I just started crying, and it was kind of like an emotional purging, and you can hear it on the record."</P><P>In addition to Ke$ha and her contribution, the album will feature 75 other Dylan classics recorded by nearly 80 artists including Adele, Miley Cyrus, "Glee" star Darren Criss, My Chemical Romance, Evan Rachel Wood and Sugarland. The album pays tribute to the 50th anniversary of Amnesty International.</p>

Jenna Jameson Pleads NOT Guilty in DUI Case
Jenna Jameson has plead not guilty in her DUI case. She was arrested after a car accident on May 25th when she blew .13 and had two prescription drugs in her possession. 'I've listened to their music since I was a child,' says the R&B diva, who recorded 'Stairway to Heaven' and 'Whole Lotta Love.'

<P>You wouldn't peg Mary J Blige as the black-light-and-tapestry sort, but, as has become readily apparent in recent weeks, she absolutely loves Led Zeppelin.</P><P>In early February, reports began circulating that <a href="/news/articles/1631297/mary-j-blige-records-led-zeppelins-stairway-heaven.jhtml">Blige had re-recorded Zeppelin's classic "Stairway to Heaven,"</a> working with Travis Barker, "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson and guitarist Steve Vai on the track, which is slated to appear on the international reissue of her <i>Stronger With Each Tear</i> album, due Monday.</P><P></p><div style="margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px; float:left;"><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:491065" width="256" height="223" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" flashVars="configParams=instance%3Dnews%26vid%3D491065" allowFullScreen="true" wmode="transparent" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed></div><p></P><P>But after she had recorded "Stairway," Blige continued to get the Led out, covering <i>another</i> Zeppelin classic — the thunderous "Whole Lotta Love" — for the album too. And when MTV News caught up with her on the <i>Essence</i> Black Women in Hollywood red carpet, she told us all about channeling her inner Robert Plant for the tracks, a process that came much easier than you'd probably imagine.</P><P>"I did Led Zeppelin's 'Stairway to Heaven' and 'Whole Lotta Love' — it's crazy," she said. "I am a Led Zeppelin fan. I'm not going to say I've been to their concerts, but I've listened to their music since I was a child, and it's always moved me, especially 'Stairway to Heaven,' and 'Whole Lotta Love' is just fun."</P><P>Blige also said she recorded another new song — a "club record" called "I Can't Wait" — for the re-release. And while it's only slated to hit shelves outside the U.S., she hopes her fans will get a chance to hear all the new songs pretty soon.</P><P>"I want y'all to hear it," she laughed.</p>

Justin Bieber Taps 'Kill Bill' Star For 'As Long As You Love Me'
Bieber teases video's premiere later this week and shares all the things he learned working with Michael Madsen.

<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a>'s music video — actually, it's more of a short film — for his song <a href="/news/articles/1688450/justin-bieber-next-single-as-long-as-you-love-me.jhtml">"As Long as You Love Me"</a> just got some <i>more</i> star power. The singer tweeted that the video will not only feature Big Sean but also actor Michael Madsen (<a href="http://www.mtv.com/movies/movie/28954/moviemain.jhtml">"Reservoir Dogs"</a>).</P><P>On Monday, Bieber <a href="https://twitter.com/justinbieber" target="_blank">tweeted</a> that he would release a teaser on Wednesday ahead of the video's premiere, which is slated for Friday or Monday. And that's when he also dropped that little bit of casting news.</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Justin Bieber Proving His Haters Wrong With 'Good Music'" id="vid:793035" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>"Should we show a minute snip of #ALAYLM short film on America's got talent this wed then release the video friday or next monday? should we?" he asked his followers. "And yes Michael Madsen is in the #AsLongAsYouLoveMe short film."</P><P>He then went on to drop various facts he learned about the actor, ranging from "Michael Madsen has inside jokes with complete strangers" to "Michael Madsen built the hospital he was born in. #AsLongAsYouLoveMeVideo."</P><P>For any fans who weren't sure if Bieber was joking or not about Madsen's appearance in the clip, he added, "and start getting ready...the #AsLongAsYouLoveMeVideo is coming very very soon! and yes ... Michael Madsen is in it! #BELIEVE that ... Michael Madsen is still trending!! haha. AMAZING. He is in the #AsLongAsYouLoveMeVideo and he also has inside jokes with complete strangers. no really. i wasnt kidding."</P><P>Madsen is known for a number of iconic roles in films like "Sin City," "Reservoir Dogs" and both "Kill Bill" films. The video was directed by Anthony Mandler, who has worked with everyone from Rihanna to Fun., and most recently rewrote some history for Lana Del Ray's "National Anthem" video. In a <a href="/news/articles/1689686/justin-bieber-bloody-as-long-as-you-love-me-video.jhtml">still photo</a> teased out from the "ALAYLM" video, Bieber looked a bit beat up, and the only major hint about the plot was that "It's a story of love .... #believe."</P><P>Whatever does end up happening in it, Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun, thinks it just might step up the 18-year-old's game.
